Ruth oversees all Headway in Research service delivery. As the multitasking queen, she keeps everything on track and ensures we provide the highest quality customer service to our clients. She spends her free time cooking, reading, traveling, and watching movies.
What is something you learned in the last year?
In the past year, I have learned a lot about myself as a leader, and how I can improve the way that I approach situations and people with different skill sets or communication styles in order to have a more professional and productive professional relationships
What is the one piece of advice you would give to a job seeker?
I encourage every job seeker to be confident but realistic. Don’t undersell yourself, but be realistic about what you are interested in and can achieve. Saying “I can’t” when you can is just as damaging and saying “I want to” when you know that you don’t.
Alex is a client-facing account manager who engages the clients in order to understand their project/staffing needs and what they are looking for in ideal candidates. He manages the recruitment effort from understanding the roles of the positions all the way until employees have completed assignments.
How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time at the beach, or outdoors in general. I am an avid sailor. I also surf, SCUBA, and snowboard as often as I can.
What was your first paying job?
When I was 12 years old, my dad opened a coffeehouse. I was a barista who began developing my customer service skills as well as my work ethic. Everyone should have the opportunity to work for family at some point. There is no tougher boss than your family who are obligated and invested to drive a mentality that hard work will drive success.
Shawnita is an expert in all things Research, having recruited on almost all of our recruitment projects. With a background in Healthcare, she is able to fully communicate the needs of our health-based studies to field staff. In her free time, she writes poetry and draws.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to a job seeker?
Please spell check your resume! Saying that you are detailed-oriented and having multiple misspelled words is a red flag.
Brittany began her work at Headway as a Research Recruiter. As an Account Manager today, she manages the numbers and makes sure they all add up. Her expertise keeps several of our research accounts in order. Exceptional folder organization and a “clean” computer desktop are her weapons of choice.

What was your first paying job?
Worked at an amusement park as token taker.
Katie started at Headway in April 2012 as a recruiter for our retail side of business. She has since moved up the ranks into a leadership. When she isn’t at the office managing one of our many large accounts, Katie spends her time with her fiancé, her new puppy, Stella, and wedding planning! Recently Katie has learned the importance of a positive attitude and then reflecting that in your work. She says, “If you have 1 bad day out of 100, your team or co-workers will immediately pick up on that and then could ultimately change their perception of you. Attitude and energy are everything!”

What was your first paying job?
My first paying job was working at the YMCA, at a summer camp to teach little girls the basics of cheerleading!
Michele is first and foremost, a problem solver. Research companies from all over the country come to her to help solve their HR and recruitment issues. She has loads of experience in Business Development, enabling her to talk to customers, understand their technical needs and then locate and manage the team or individual that can help solve their most difficult problems.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time with friends and family, riding bikes, running, and anything outdoors! I also love to cook and make jewelry!

What is the one piece of advice you would give to a job seeker?
Pursue a job doing something you love. If you love the job and have a passion for it, it won’t seem like work at all.
Aside from sales, watching college football and spending time on the lake are Alan's biggest hobbies. He is a lover of the outdoors and claims to cook a mean Chicken Piccata.
What is something you learned in the last week? The last year?
I learned that alligator is not only edible, it is delicious.
What was your first paying job?
When I was younger and growing up in the Northeast, I was able to turn snow days into a profitable experience. I would clear driveways for families throughout the neighborhood.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to a job seeker?
Don’t be afraid to take risks, and opportunity looks a lot like hard work.
