Each month, Headway in Research will feature one internal employee here at Headway Workforce Solutions. We will interview them to give you a more in-depth look into their job. This month we are featuring Christina Small. Meet Christina Small! She’s one of the newest additions to Headway’s recruiting team.

What are your job duties?

I am a new recruiter at Headway. I’m responsible for recruiting great candidates for two of our biggest projects, RTI NSDUH and Hickory Farms.

How do you get through the work day?

Well, I get through my workday by first praying for a great day. Then I always enter work with a positive attitude and I just take it hour by hour and minute by minute. Each day is different, so I go into the day expecting something different (but something great too).

Who’s your all-time favorite musical artist?

Avery Sunshine – Leverkusener Jazztage 2015

I will say Avery Sunshine. I listen to one particular song every day that she sings, called “Safe in his Arms”. I like all types of music, like gospel, country, hip hop and R&B.

Which do you prefer, the mountains or the beach?

Well, coming from a small town near the coast, I went to the beach every week, so I am no stranger to the beach life. Now that I have gotten older, I enjoy the mountains because of how peaceful they are.

What makes you smile?

Just life itself! It sounds generic, but dealing with life and the obstacles it brings, I have learned the importance of smiling, and the ability to take the good with the bad and enjoy every day.

Use one word to describe Headway:

Family. One thing I’ve learned about Headway is that the employees actually care for each other. When someone is not feeling their best, people try to help. When birthdays roll around, everyone signs cards and decorates desks. Headway is like a bunch of cousins that never grew up together but stick together because they are family.

Strawberries come back stronger each year, and so does Christina!

If you were a fruit, what would you be?

I would be a strawberry because it grows each year better and better. And that is how I feel about who I am becoming! Each year I am getting better and better.
